The Effect of Not Showing or Cancelling at the Last Minute
Like all healthcare offices, we are here to help people. It takes many people in all areas of the practice to do this. At Healthpark we are are available evening and weekend hours to accommodate our client's busy lifestyles. We will always see an emergency or a patient in pain the same day, and usually within 1-2 hours to get them out of pain.
Each monthly we send out reminder cards for patients who have been recommended 6 month cleanings in an effort to get them into the office in a timely manner. However, when people do not show up or call to cancel less than 24 hours in advance, it reduces the chance that we can contact another patient so that someone may benefit from our services . This now becomes lost time for another patient.
We understand with todays busy lifestyles, things will always occur at the last minute. It is always best, however, if clients could try to call at least 24 hours before their scheduled appointment to inform us that they will be unable to make it. This open communication allows us to contact other patients that could benefit from the new open time in the schedule, helps keep our staff productive, and keeps overall dental costs down.
